SAUNA FLO – TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all bookings and use of Sauna Flo, located at Penarth Marina, Cardiff (“Sauna Flo”, “we”, “us”, “our”).

By making a booking, ticking the acceptance box at checkout, and/or entering the premises, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms.

1. Eligibility to Book and Participate

1.1 The person making the booking must be 18 years or over and authorised to agree to these Terms on behalf of all participants in the booking.

1.2 All participants must be 18 years or over. Valid ID may be requested on arrival.

1.3 The booker is responsible for ensuring that all members of their group are aware of and comply with these Terms.

2. Health and Medical Acknowledgment

2.1 By attending Sauna Flo, you confirm that you and all members of your group are physically fit to use a hot sauna and (if chosen) cold water exposure.

2.2 Sauna use and cold exposure are not suitable for individuals with certain medical conditions, including but not limited to:
• Heart or cardiovascular conditions
• High or low blood pressure
• History of fainting or blackouts
• Epilepsy
• Respiratory conditions
• Pregnancy
• Recent surgery
• Fever or acute illness
• Conditions affecting temperature regulation
• Any condition aggravated by heat or cold exposure

2.3 If you are unsure about your suitability, you must consult a qualified medical professional before booking.

2.4 You agree to:
• Stay hydrated
• Exit the sauna immediately if feeling dizzy, faint, nauseous or unwell
• Inform staff immediately if you or anyone in your group feels unwell

Participation is entirely voluntary and at your own risk.

3. Assumption of Risk

3.1 Sauna Flo is a floating outdoor facility located on and adjacent to open water at Penarth Marina. Surfaces may be wet, uneven, or move with water conditions.

3.2 You acknowledge and accept that use of the facilities involves inherent risks including but not limited to:
• Slips, trips and falls
• Burns from hot surfaces, stove, rocks or steam
• Dehydration or heat exhaustion
• Dizziness or fainting
• Cold shock response
• Drowning
• Injury when entering or exiting the water
• Injury caused by changing weather or marina conditions

3.3 You voluntarily assume full responsibility for all risks associated with use of the sauna, pontoons, walkways and surrounding areas.

4. Water Safety

4.1 Water entry is entirely voluntary.

4.2 We do not provide lifeguard or rescue services.

4.3 You must not:
• Run, jump or dive from any structure
• Enter the water unless you are a competent swimmer
• Swim beyond designated access areas
• Enter the water under the influence of alcohol or drugs

4.4 You are solely responsible for your safety in and around the water and for the safety of your booking party.

5. Behaviour and Safety Rules

5.1 You must follow all staff instructions and on-site signage at all times.

5.2 You must:
• Remove outdoor footwear before entering the sauna
• Sit on a towel for hygiene and safety
• Avoid touching the stove, flue or rocks
• Move carefully on potentially wet surfaces
• Keep noise to a respectful level

5.3 Alcohol and drug use before or during your session is strictly prohibited. We reserve the right to refuse entry or terminate a session without refund if you appear intoxicated or unsafe.

6. Bookings, Cancellations and Refunds

6.1 All sessions are 50 minutes maximum.

6.2 Maximum group size is 6 people (at our discretion based on safety and operational requirements).

6.3 Full payment is required at the time of booking. A booking is confirmed only once payment has been received and the acceptance box has been ticked.

6.4 Cancellations or rescheduling by customers are permitted up to 48 hours before the scheduled session. Within 48 hours, bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable.

6.5 Late arrivals will not result in extended session time or refunds.

6.6 If Sauna Flo cancels a session due to unsafe conditions (including but not limited to extreme weather, structural issues, or marina instruction), customers will be offered either:
• An alternative date, or
• A full refund.

6.7 For communal sessions booked by only one person, Sauna Flo reserves the right to cancel the booking at our discretion. In such cases, we will notify you as soon as practicable and provide either an alternative date or full refund.

7. Operational Discretion

We reserve the right to:
• Refuse entry
• End a session without refund
• Adjust group sizes
• Close the facility

Where necessary for safety, breaches of these Terms, or nuisance to others.

8. Damage and Indemnity

8.1 You are responsible for any damage caused by you or your group beyond fair wear and tear.

8.2 You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sauna Flo against any claims, losses, damages or expenses arising from:
• Your breach of these Terms
• Your negligent or reckless conduct
• Injury or damage caused by you or your group

9. Personal Property

We accept no responsibility for loss, theft or damage to personal belongings brought onto the site.

10. Photography and Media

Personal photography is permitted provided others’ privacy is respected.

Commercial photography requires prior written consent.

Signage will indicate if marketing photography is taking place. If you do not wish to appear in incidental promotional material, please inform staff.

11. Limitation of Liability

11.1 To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sauna Flo shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the facilities.

11.2 Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.

12. Data Protection

We process personal data only for booking, operational and legal purposes in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

By ticking the acceptance box at checkout, you confirm that:

1. You are 18+ and authorised to make this booking.
2. All participants are aged 18+.
3. You understand sauna and water use carry inherent risks.
4. You accept these Terms and agree to comply with them.
